Went on Tuesday night for the Open mic with Billy Crooze. It was delightful. So much talent in Albuquerque. There were maybe 12 singers, 3 of them women, and it was wonderful. The Tsp room Green Chili stew is terrific. One of the best open mics in town.
Pictured is The Bird (forefront of first pic) and the Tortilla Burger (2nd pic). I ordered The Bird with fried chicken which had wonderful texture—crispy and not greasy at all. However, I think the sandwich overall was a bit dry and could’ve used more sauce to help bring more flavor. I ended up putting the jalapeño slices which were served on the side into the sandwich and it added something bright which was really delicious. I also enjoyed the new pickles on my plate. The crisps were not my thing but they’re light, airy and definitely unique. Service was very friendly and there’s lots of seating options, both inside and outside.
An unexpected surprise. We were looking for a quick bite but got so much more. Food was great and our server was friendly. We ended talking about the different options of house made alcohol that I bought two! The place was fun and everything clean as well.
What a find! This is definitely your friendly neighborhood ‘more than just a bar.’ They really DO know your name, your family members, your kids…. Come in by yourself-the regulars will scoot over and make room and conversation. The bartenders can craft some great NA cocktails too! And the food is delicious! And the music is so much fun.
Our first experience here was for one of their pairing events. It event itself was very inclusive and welcoming. It definitely had a friends and family feel to it. All the servers were absolutely amazing. Especially Miranda. All the coctails served that night were not only visually amazing, they also went down smoothly and were very delectable. Our food that night had several courses of deliciousness. I would highly recommend attending their events. Or just popping in for a mouthwatering beverage.
So glad we stopped in here. They had a great happy hour. The Calabacita Tacos really hit the spot. I also loved the Old Town Tea. It was like a really amazing version of a twisted tea and so smooth. I really wish I would have bought some to take home.
Kelly, Sabine, and Joey were great when we visited. A great place to stop by, in view of Hotel Albuquerque. Open-air back patio, a front patio, as well as bar and table/booth combo seating. Good selection of local brews, as well as some interesting house specialty drinks. Would definitely recommend Sabine"s Chocolate Salty Nuts. Must make eye contact when ordering it
The best part of The Taproom at Old Town has to be Kitsune! I ordered the spam fried rice, spam musubi, and green curry Thai fries. An incredibly delicious spin on Asian comfort foods. Undeniable favorites. The cocktails were delightful, with both the Taproom and Kitsune being stand alone hits if you’re in the mood for just one - or BOTH - like we did! There’s a paid parking lot across the street, making it easily accessible.
